Salt price rumors spark panic. The sudden money changer rule has led to adverse effects not only on people but also on food items. There were rumor that the salt scarcity is owing to poor cash flow after the sudden diminishment of RS 500 and RS 1000 notes. As per the sources, the salt and sugar prices are sky rocketing to RS 200 and RS 400 per kg in Uttar Pradesh and the same is expected to trigger in Delhi and Mumbai states as well. However, the Moradabad DM said,” these are rumors that slat will be sold at the higher rates. This led to panic among the people today. Salt is not going to be sold even one rupee more that it’s original rate. So, people need not worry.”

The rumor arose in panic among the people and the entire issue is said to be deposit. The special commissioner Law and order, North at Delhi Police SBK Singh said,” Just rumors. Salt price rumors spark panic, area being patrolled extensively by station House officers to dispel rumors and inform the crowd, No shortage of salt or ration.’” Hence it is clear that the ban of old RS 500 and RS 1000 notes has no effect on the salt and ration till date.
